Speaking of utilities, the cost of your heating/cooking gas is going up. Again.

Natural gas for RM was about 37821 CLP for a 45 kg balón this time last year. With the new hike it will be about 44045 CLP.

That's more than a 16 percent increase in a year. With IVA that is almost a 20 percent increase. Just about the same rate change (subsidy reduction) that caused XII Región to shut down in January and cause itself more than $14 million dollars in damages in related insurrection effects.

Yet another reason for chilenos and visitors to run riot in the streets.

Actually I was alluding to the irony of Magallanicos shutting down their region and attempting to starve themselves over a certain price impact, yet when the same price impact reaches the RM, nobody notices. Actually there was a lot more to that mention of the price increase and its implications but I suspect it was not immediately apparent given the current tensions.
