(Moronic  ) Moral of this thread is what even Admin has said all along: (minus corporate/rich NGO sponsorship) START YOUR OWN THING IN CHILE, THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO.

A moron is a moron, btw - I'm not american. And yes, ADMIN seem to have the right idea to anyone wanting to live in Chile.

You seem to be upset because I pointed out some of the bad, well, what can I say – the truth can hurt.

PenquistaDeCorazon you asked. Why do you not leave then? - Who said I way staying?

You said..

Do you think Chile had an obligation to roll out the red carpet for you the day you stepped off the plane? What exactly do you have to offer that is so in demand that they are willing to not give you a job out of sheer spite? Maybe your paternalistic attitude shines through bright and clear and turns off potential employers.

Did I say that? Please point out the post that quotes me saying that? I referred to the lack of professionalism. Obligation to roll out the red carpet? Are you serious?? If a simple courtesy call or e-mail after a job interview is considered rolling out the red carpet, then I stand by everything I said.

Like I said, I’m not going to bother replying to every little comment you wrote. Frankly, it’s just a waste of my time. Anyone reading this will have an idea of what to expect in Chile if they are moving here for the first time. And that’s what this site is about.

Look I take no issue with your experience. It is a valid one and so are your points. But really, is tghere a need to summarize with basically "Most Chileans are morons?"
that's all I am saying.

Best of luck in whatever you pursue.

I do apologize if I offended anyone, that was never my intent. My choice of words were poorly selected.

Hey I can understand the frustration and feel for you. My cousin makes like 300k and her hubby lost his job months ago. So they went from 1.1 mil to 300k just like that. Sucks. Take care :) . We help them out but I have to tell ya, this Chilean penchant for going on vacation for a month while Rome burns around them is very frustrating to me. Equally frustrating is the fact that my cousins kids do not make any attempt to work part time after school as kids do here in Canada.
