It is world wide income, with certain exceptions (e.g. foreign pensions are never taxed), for permanent residents. There is a 3 tax holiday for new residents. Citizens, at least in theory, are required to declare and pay their income tax in Chile each year. That is all the 2 cent version, much more complex.
