When I was a kid, our family had a cabin on a river about an hour outside the city. We had it wired for electricity one year, hooked up for a single summer, and then everyone decided to veto the electricity. We all missed going to the cabin and using the oil lamps, candles, sitting by the fire, finding our way to the outhouse by fireflies and flashlights. So, for 35 years that cabin was our escape from technology on the weekends.

I actually miss the times when life was simple and more "timeless". I have a lot of time in my hands now, being at a crossroads in life, so I volunteer my time and skills whenever I can help. I am posting a link to a YouTube video that I've translated, and now starting to translate the next ones. The voice is of an American who reads the transcripts in the States.
I read earlier on the newspaper that there is interest in some foreign tv companies to broadcast them if only they were in English. The predator centre did not have money for the translations so I stepped in. Another person stepped in for French.

Edit, if this is considered advertizing you can freely remove the link. The center is a non-profit organization that takes care of orphaned predators.

Funny. People with little technology do what they can to acquire it. The history of civilisation is the history of technology. Those who have it in abundance occasionally pretend to be happier without it, but ultimately acknowledge that human beings owe their lives, health, and well-being to.... the ability to use tools.

Even if what some individuals "ultimately acknowledge" is believed to be so by some other people, can those "believers" base their beliefs on anything but their own personal views? Would you please show me the effective means to arrive at the right view. Otherwise, I humbly declare your above statement less than accurate. The post by admin, even though it is expressed by no means "perfectly" and "rightly", is rather good post. If each one of those who thus "decided to veto the electricity" would voice their reasons for doing so, some of them might be interesting, if expressed thoughtfully and not in a hurry.

The time that you spend reading this sentence could be employed to better advantage in almost any other way.
