You know I might point out, to all the newer members around here, that it was almost a year ago the that big quake hit.

In the days after big quake, all these people that seem to be spitting at each other, insulting each other, or otherwise being nasty to each other on this forum stood up together to help Chile and help each other. They sent money to me and to other organizations to help people in Chile. They got on the forum and started helping find people and pass messages around the country. Even more on point, they started organizing to find each other. They went to see if other members were o.k. that could not get on the forum because they still had no electricity or internet. Some went and physically knocked on the door of other members in a disaster zone. I know the old members would do it again, and I hope the newer members would join them.

Gato, this thread is so over the line in to unambiguous trolling, that I am going to have a cup of coffee and I might still kick you out this morning.

Gato, you have already been banned once this week. Final warning.

As for those around here getting their feelings hurt, people it is just a forum on the internet. Get real!!! Seriously. Grow a pair! Buy a thicker skin!

If it is too much for you, adopt a dog and take it for a walk. Do some yoga, meditation, chant, or whatever it is you do to calm down. There are million other things in life you could be doing besides hanging out on the internet.

For everyone else, see you at the next blood curdling adrenaline pumping politically incorrect allchile.net flame-athon. Pack your heart pills and a bottle of pisco.

One thing I think a lot of the newer members seem to forget is one of the reasons people seem to come to this forum is because it is small. Even people with only a passing interest in Chile come to this forum. We are not some forum with 40 million members, on 50 billion topics.

We might very well be one of the most dysfunctional families on the internet, but over the years we have become very much a family.

With that, I am off to do something really important for the forum. Specifically, time to upgrade the system.

Please have that coffee first! :lol:

Greetings Admin:

We wish that today, this our message finds you very well, in the best of spirits, in a good health, and having a [very] big and nice cup of [wonderfully brewed], tasty and strong, [real] coffee.

We are going to speak now about three major misunderstandings between you and us. Please, do not reply emotionally, rather, please have the time to read, and respond to the best of your philosophical skills (as they are well known to this community).

Misunderstanding # 1

You wrote (in another topic):

"...To imply that somehow some group is running around in Chile threatening to kill journalist or that somehow freedom of the press was being threatened is way beyond trying to cover a slow news day..."

{ topic5533.html#p57868 }

We translated this as that were we (for we interpreted your words thusly), who implied the above. Therefore, we deleted not only the OP, but we did erase the subject line entirely (so the forum is clean from such implications), and as the software won't accept empty line - we simply did put a "period".

Misunderstanding # 2

You wrote (in another topic):

"...I see it as an active attempt to sabotage and attack the underlying functioning of the forum. They did not just remove their text..."

{ topic5533-12.html#p57962 }

Having read that, we simply had to create a new account, and make an explanatory post saying that by no means any harm to the forum was intended by inserting the "period" character, but rather, that was our natural reaction to the fact, that there were no "delete post" options provided.

Misunderstanding # 3

You wrote (in this very topic):

"...Gato, this thread is so over the line in to unambiguous trolling, that I am going to have a cup of coffee and I might still kick you out this morning..."

Dear Admin, please read: "You both are troll status in my book.", so said an old post by the oldest forum global moderator when they referred to our opponent. Hence, we were almost sure that the global moderator had indeed reasons to list the said user as forum "troll", so we tried honestly, and in good faith, to politely remind the user (supposedly, the real "troll") to make an apology to the said global moderator. As a result - you now call this our words nothing but "unambiguous trolling".

Finally, you say:

"...Gato, you have already been banned once this week. Final warning..."

If none of the above makes any sense to you - please go ahead and do whatever you wish, i.e. ban us, or freeze our account. After that, as someone who once referred to themselves as "philosophical Buddhist" (not sure what this really means, btw), kindly note, that the "Bodhisattva Precepts" as per Wikipedia, in the "The Sixteen Bodhisattva Precepts" section, reads:

The Three Pure Precepts

* Do not create Evil
* Practice Good
* Actualize Good For Others

en .wikipedia .org/wiki/Bodhisattva_Precepts

Think about that.

Most Respectfully,

Gato

Yet another forum troll here........ Mr Patagoniax: "Get away from me, by the shortest route." *

_______________________________________
* "...An idiot looked at a browsing camel. He said to it: 'Your appearance is awry. Why is this so?'

The camel replied: 'In judging the impression made, you are attributing a fault to that which shaped the form. Be aware of this! Do not consider my crooked appearance a fault.

'Get away from me, by the shortest route. My appearance is thus for function, for a reason. The bow needs the bentness as well as the straightness of the bowstring. Fool, begone! An ass's perception goes with an ass's nature.'** ..."

** Maulana Majdud, known as Hakim Sanai the Illuminated Reviving Sage of Ghazna, writes extensively on the unreliability of subjective impressions and conditioned judgments. One of his sayings is: 'In the distorting mirror of your mind, an angel can seem to have a devil's face.' This parable is from his Walled Garden of Truth, which was written about 1130.
