This is not an ad for the property. We have decided that we are using the house so seldom (we use it 3 weeks in November and my cousins use it about 3 weeks in January) that it might make sense to rent it out to help with the maintenance cost. I am going to put it on VRBO.com because that is what I know works for Caribbean rentals and they do have some Chilean properties on there. That might attract a foreign renter but I suppose the best market is Chileans or at least people in Chile. Where is the best place to advertise?
What would be a fair price for a 5 bedroom (The sixth bedroom is going to be used as a locked owners storage) 2 1/2 baths, almost new, very comfortable and pretty house on about 6 acres of lake frontage (Lago Ranco).Stunning lakefront , sunsets and mountain views from every room. It is in a Quiet area but plenty to do and few restaurants nearby, as well as the usual lake activities. But this is no Pucon
The house is comfortable but no decorator has seen the inside of this place. The beds are all new but the livingroom furniture is from my uncles old camp, serviceable and comfortable but tired. We hope to upgrade if we can rent it a few weeks a year. The caretakers live on the property about 100 yards away from the house and the house will be rented with daily housekeeping by the caretakers wife who will also cook and clean and help with childcare if needed. My cousin feels that normal rental period is two weeks, is that true, would shorter periods, minimum 4 days make sense?
Any advice is appreciated.

I know Portal Inmobilaria do long and short term rentals. We recently rented a house for 3 days over New Year in Algarrobo. If you have a look in there it would give you some idea of what prices to charge as well. Good luck.
