Re: rent furnished? or furnish from scratch?

When we were looking for apartments, last year in Vina del Mar, and this year in Valdivia, we found a much smaller price difference between furnished and unfurnished. We ended up paying an additional $10,000 a month for a furnished apartment over a comparable unfurnished apartment we considered renting. For us personally, location and value mattered most, so we looked at both furnished and unfurnished apartments until we found the right place for us. I think it's all about luck of the draw, and furnished apartments can be found for a great deal if you don't mind putting in some legwork (we looked at 10 apartments in person before making our final decision.)

In Ñuñoa furnished 3 bedroom apartments can be found for close to the same price as a unfurnished,

But a furnished apartment in las condes, that puts an extra $80,000 - 250000 per month on the bill......

anyway, the last poster was a random spammer i think the one with the picutres

two questions...

1 - I have some family coming out and will be in need of extra beds/seating for about a week or so. Anyone know of any place I can rent these things from? Maybe it's a shot in the dark...

2- are there any short term leasing websites (for housing) aside from portalin. and contact chile? I'm looking for about 3 months time frame...

Just called Casa Cozy... they don't really do rentals for extra seating and/or bedding. They said they usually rent out furniture for a whole house.... thanks for the link though.
