Just got off the phone with Lan Airlines cargo department in NYC (Jan 5 2011). Was told there will be an embargo for the next 3 months. So they won't accept my dog that I'm trying to bring with me.

They said so far it isn't affecting other airlines...which I will check. I thought the strike was settled? Just went thru numerous delays with shipping/receiving stuff in December. Does anyone have on the ground info about what's happening with Aduanas, Immigration, Importing pets, packages etc...

I don't want to book on Delta have them tell me everything is fine than get to Chile and not be able to bring my dog in or something unusual/weird happen and put my pet in jeopardy. thanks
