Lew Rockwell had a link to that article, g-j.
I like this one too: "10 Years After 9/11, Is America a Better Place?" http://lewrockwell.com/rep2/10-years-after-911.html

"I have less freedom now than I did 10 years ago. Not because of the terrorists, but directly by the actions of the US government. I am now openly wondering if soliders are defending our freedoms or if they are taking it away."

We were sitting at lunch with some folks from church recently. At the table were my son's in-laws who had just flown. She raved about how they had gone through the new security and that she felt safer because of it. I asked her if she knew how many terrorists had been caught thanks to the stepped up security at our airports. Since nobody volunteered an answer, I provided it for them. The silence that lingered was palpable.

The scope and grope tactics of our TSA paramilitary branch of the Amerika guvmnt gives a good name to the draconian IRS of a decade ago. We'll likely spring for the extra leg via a nearby local airport so I can avoid having my wife groped. Actually, we could fly out of Canada for less anyways, so might just cross the border if that's a viable alternative.
Unapologetically conservative (from a contemporary perspective), liberal (historically), complementary (gender perspective), Austrian (economically), Christian (fallen perspective) and, thus, contrarian (lemming perspective).

I know... it's your problem, but it affects us all. I wish you'd solve it.

Before 9/11 British Airways used to use their own x-rays at the gates of aircraft flying to the UK as the US security was so lax and even allowed knifes on domestic flights.

Too much too late, still failing to fall into the international trend, yes I think so.

Yes, quite... Any transport system that demands security and yet allows incoming and outgoing passengers to mix is nothing more than a joke. I believe they're still finding knives, which are actually really not a problem since any would-be trouble-maker with a knife will be ripped limb from limb by his fellow passengers before the plane will be flown into anything. There's more to it than that of course, but while the US system is a joke, that joke is entirely on us...

Interesting how we get so many US people here and when there is a mild suggestion that they might like to fix their own country first before f*****g up another there is... dead silence?

Tragically, the myth of "American exceptionalism" continues to distort our reality and perspective. :(
