Hi there!

We have a place in El Quisco, 3-4 minutes from Algarrobo. It is kind of a secluded parcela, just over 5000m2 and we love it. It is a five minute drive from the beaches of most of that area and while we have been in Canada for the past 3 years we have had a small, 750sq foot house built. It will do us until we can build something bigger, which we figured we would have to be there for to keep an eye on it. I won't go into the story of how long it took to build or the headaches we had by email or all the other stuff that went on and the fact that we still have no kitchen or windows, because.....we don't care!!!
We picked the place for the lovely air, smell of eucalyptus, sometime view of the ocean (it gets misty in the mornings) and the lovely people we met there every time we drove out there from Santiago. We are kind of hidden away but there are enough places that we can go to to get a meal or drink without it being too much of a hassle (we have a vehicle) and far enough away from the beach that we can see water but don't have to tolerate the crowds when we don't want to. I say, take a chance and have a look around and talk to the local people as suggested...we did and found our bit of paradise through a guy that knew a guy that introduced us to the guy we eventually bought from :D :D :D
WE will be in Chile December 8 and can't wait :)

Cheers
Linda

Thank you again for sharing your experiences of the area. Audeo , your post left me lying on the floor in tears ( and laughter ). I plan to visit Chile nevertheless and see formyself. I hope you and everyone else will never have the experience of being robbed again and may your homes forever be protected.
