Project Manager/Consultant compensation in Santiago

Postby max » Mon Aug 16, 2010 2:35 pm

I am looking for what the approximate rate/compensation is for a project manager/consultant in Santiago, pesos or dollars? The work involves developing training programs in English for Chilean businesses. The background of the candidate: 15 years of supply chain logistics experience, 8 years experience as a trainer, 8 yrs experience on high profile project teams as a sub team lead, and 4 yrs experience developing business documents. This is all the info I have for now........just trying to get an idea.

Thxs,

I work for a very large US bank in Santiago. People with that background and experience earn in the CLP$ 2-3 million range here.

people tend to ignore these questions mainly because you are going to be disappointed with the answer,

if your in chile to make money working for someone else they only way to do this is be transferred here by a multinational....

if you are looking for work, and you manage to meet all the criteria you will only get between 2 - 3 million.....as a top of the ladder professional...

if you are here for the experience of living and working in chile, then i guess be prepared to settle for 600 mil - 1.4 million....

Thanks for the feedback zer0nz and New2Stgo! Disappointing or not, it is what it is. One follow up question because I don't like to assume......

The numbers given, are they monthly, figures??

Thanks a bunch!

Yes, Chilean companies pay their employees once a month... and unlike the US, when you negotiate your salary, the company will quote the monthly take home salary that you would be earning.
In the beginning I had to translate to US$, then to Yearly, then to before taxes... Quite funny!
