Certificado de antecedentes

Postby GrahamJG » Fri Aug 06, 2010 7:45 pm

Hi, I am a British citizen with a Chilean wife about to apply for Definite Permanence - I have temporary resisency

One of the supporting documents required is a "Certificado de antecedentes". Do I only need the certificate from the Chilean Servicio Registro Civil or do I need an equivalent from the UK?

A furter question does the submission need to be done by post or can one take it to an office?

PS The information given in the English and Spanish versions of the form Pcorreo-3 downloaded from the extranjeri.gov web site are significantly different in places!

Certificado de Viajes from the Policia International at Morande 672 in Santiago - open untill

Many thank Graham

Only Chilean "Certificado de Antecedentes".

BTW, it may be issued by any office of the Chilean Registro Civil, at any town.

Note: its valid 30 calendar days only.

And the "Certificado de Viajes" is also valid for 30 calendar days only

Also, you possibly need a photocopy (not the original) of the "certificado de registro" of your temp. res. visa, you should had received it when registered your temp. res. with the Policía Internacional.

Please correct me, if anything stated here in this post is not true.

every beast its pen,
every bird its nest.
And God knows best."

Needs to be sent by post - I tried handing it in personally but they would not accept it.

Other Extranjería offices seem to behave differently. In Pto Natales for residency applications there is no requirement for certificado de viajes (presumably since Extranjería has direct access to that data online) and they accept hand-carried Antecedentes from PDI across the street. Different strokes. Inexplicable.
