Adapt, overcome, conquer, or something to that effect. I agree in principle, but Rice Krispie Treats, as the name implies, can only be made one way. And I will be able to find marshmallow, and even if I could not, I am capable of producing a marshmallow simulacrum which may sometimes indeed be stone-like.

Jumbo, Alto los Condes has a whole front of an aisle stocked with marshmallows...must be on sale or something. Get them now while they have them. If it is one thing I have learned while living here is if you see it in the store, you had better buy it then until waiting for the time that you will need it cause you can bet it will be gone the next time you go back to get it. I have even see marshmallow creme in Lider but that was a few months ago.

You are welcome to filter me out if being playful is not to your satisfaction.
Nah, I reckon we need more banter if anything. Not everyone feel the need to be profound all the time, some talk about raindrops and bamboo, some talk about paper napkins, some about dog food, some talk in the 3rd person, some about vegemite, and some search for caster sugar or pumpkin in a can. I reckon knock yourself out on the topics of breakfast cereal and child armies, I've been guilty of at least one of the two on more than one occasion and have not been berated for it.

As with any forum, there are the usual forum stereotypes, ignore the ones that irritate you and embrace the ones you like.
Um, can you get marshmallow cream in Chile?
Is that the stuff Smores are made with? If so, yes, a Seppo friend of mine recently reverently handed over to me a tub of this stuff. We didn't know what to do with it and in the end it expired and we binned it. From memory, she bought it from Lider on Av El Rodeo. I'll look next time I'm in Jumbo.

BTW - Every year in July (I think it was from the 1st to 18th this year) Jumbo at La Dehesa stock up on USA products for 4th of July. Make a mental note for next year if you want to buy Mac N Cheese in a box and other gross American delicacies! :D

That's good to know. I've read that here before that best practices of inventory management have not been fully implemented, so one need to catch as catch can.

With regard to macaroni and cheese, it's easy to make a gourmet version from scratch, but I find that results in something that, in tasting better technically than the Kraft product, tastes worse. To my taste, some things are fine from a box, and some things require a box, and perhaps the sachet helps age the cheese flavoring; therefore I will certainly stock up at the opportunity. Thanks for the tip!

Rice Krispies found!!......Ok not the real rice krispies but a generic German brand that are gluten free. They are at Jumbo Alto Los Condes and are more than 3 lucas per box. Look in the cereal and the health food section. The marshmellows that I saw there are gone though but Lider at plaza norte has the marshmellow creme as well as the marshmellows.

I've found the generic brand rice krispies at Jumbo that were pretty good for not having elves on the front ;) Marshmallows, it's crazy you know, because we live in El Quisco where you can't get any-bloody-thing, but you can get marshmallows here. They're usually white and pink, with the pink being strawberry flavoured so I pick those out when I make rice krispie treats. I need a couple extra bags as a result, but they still come out just as tasty as back home :D

Great, just great. Now I'm hungry.
Does anyone want a very sweet little puppy, she's vaccinated and fixed...
