Mallas

Postby allegro on Sun Jul 25, 2010 2:12 pm

Does anyone know where I can buy those Mallas de Proteccion retail in Santiago or Rancagua area? Homecenter has nothing in terms of screens right now, even though they had them in the summer (They said: "But it's too cold for screens!" a- it's not! it gets toasty inside on sunny days, and b- god forbid we have a new house in the winter and want to open the door without letting out the cats.) and none of the contractors who put them in in Santiago will come out to our farm in BFE. I found a mail-order site online but they ship from the US and I'd kind of like to do them this week. I know they must be somewhere!

I found this site
http://www.mallasdeseguridad.cl/htm/index.html
a while ago when looking to put nets on the rails of the top floor to keep the kiddies from falling through.

I see them on Sodimac's website for online purchase, so maybe you can buy online and they'll dispatch from their warehouse?

Are you sure Sodimac doesn't sell mallas? We bought ours there, oke in the summer, but mallas are not especially for the summer. People buy them to prevend children and pets falling from the balcony or out of a window. Try Sodimac in Las Condes.

We had looked and asked several times to no avail, but by some miracle they had them yesterday! Figures. They didn't have the metal piece to help keep them in place but I think we are just going to staple them.
