There's loads of information on here if you use the 'Advanced Search' feature.
In a nutshell, it depends on your experience, other qualifications, etc. I don't have a TEFL qualification, but I'm an experienced English teacher with a postgrad teaching qualification and an MA. And it depends what you mean by 'schools' as well. You've got quite a variety of institutions under that umbrella. Some places won't be bothered, others will. But from the point of view of being professional and helping your students make the best progress possible, if you've never taught before, a TEFL qualification would probably be a very good idea. Just make sure it's reputable and rigourous.
