Bit even in winter you've got a view of the volcano most days. I did the tourist trip via Todos Los Santos to Peulla twice and on to Bariloche once, I remember they said they run the trip in winter as well, using motorized sleds in the snow to get over the pass. Must be impressive.

BTW, you're planning to learn German now? ;-)

Is the Café Danés still in Puerto Varas? I used to like going there.

My wife studied German, and now that we are here wants to study more. I am kind of thinking about it. At least I am going to investigate the German pastries. This town has got to have the best Pastries in Chile. They are everywhere, and they are not that crusty sugar injected pasteries you run in to all over Chile, but real home made high quality pastries. There is a shop on every corner, and every restaurant has about 20 different fresh cakes, strudels, and so on every day.

Not sure about the cafe. Will check next time I am over there.

:D That is funny because for years I have been arguing on this forum that that the pastries in Chile were not overly sweet and were really delicious. Of course our experience was the bakeries in the lake region, in Fruitillar and an annual pilgrimage to the Mamusia cafe in Puerto Varas, those German Chileans know how to bake! I would say that Kuchen is one of the top 3 reasons my husband loves Chile so much. Though we can get Kuchen in Futrono it doesn't rise to the quality in Fruitillar or Puerto Varas, but last year my husband found an old cook book of my aunts from the forties and he spent our time at the lake perfecting Kuchen, he did great! Now if we could just get there when the "Moras" are ready! :D

Maybe I must go to the lake region to try some Kuchen, but what I had so far in Valpo was far too sweet to be called Kuchen.
Being german I always fall for the look (there is no difference from what I am used to get back home) but the minute I eat the "Kuchen" ............,

but I am not giving up hope.

Now two different bakeries/cafes have been mentioned here. "The Mamusia" where we keep returning just because it is so good and the "Danes" in Pt. Varas. Maybe Charles can give us some recommendations in Frutillar as I don't want to screw up my one pastry for the day on our annual day trip.

Groschi, just turn right on route five and its an easy , worthwhile 10 hour drive, the views aren't bad either.

Que fantastico. Llanquihue is seriously the most beautiful place I have ever been and the restaurants in that area are so much better than here in Stgo (natural beauty + great restaurants = perfect in my book). For more pastry, Onces Bellavista on the Puerto Varas side of things has a really great walnut kuchen, almost like a pecan pie. I can't wait to go back this summer!

I would like the know the length of time it takes for a Notario to register with all the various agencies, a legal document that has been signed between two parties in front of the Notario. Specifically, it would be a contract between two parties pertaining to a point venture mining venture.

Not really the right thread, but I will give it a go anyway. It is instantly legally valid once it is signed. It is not "registered" with anyone. If you want some particular person or agency to recognize a contract in Chile, then you have to show them the notarized document. Notaries are public officials and the documents are public record at the time they are signed.

I however get the sense you are somehow not sure what you are asking or should be asking. Perhaps I am wrong. Just the sense I get from the nature of the post.

Greetings to all; we finally arrived to Chile after three years planning from the States. My wife is finally back to her birthplace Country of Chile.
Our current location is Quebrada de Alvarado while I study more about the southern Chile region and its future new development and construction subjects reported.
I do have a question regarding a posting/detail about Frutillar and the new development: Have they actually started Pantagonia Virgin earth work?
Ps to Charles> we have been monitoring Chile Forum since 2007 and enjoyed it greatly. Your personal picture, however, seems to not have changed? :D [no offense intended, just curious] Hope to meet you someday soon, and perhaps other members.
