Work for Pilots

Postby walkingfreely » Thu Jun 17, 2010 9:48 pm

I was wondering what availability there are for pilots here in Chile. I am new to this, I will be studying for a bit in the states, then come back here with my certificates. Any ideas, LAN, tourism, something that can keep me busy in the sky, while in Chile?

One of the reasons I like to fly LAN is I have complete confidence that they wont be interested in somebody who is new to this and studying a bit in the States.

Companies like Aeroperu didnt have such qualms but for some reason they crashed themselves out of business.

Many new pilots get their experience flying small planes in remote areas, often with cargo only at first. Maybe such opportunities exist in the south of Chile.

In the Central region it is very doubtful, the skies are quite busy and there are lots of qualified pilots with Chilean certification.

I worked for airlines for many years and most airlines hire pilots from the military with a lot of flying hours.

What exactly do you want , the contact info for "lots of qualified pilots with Chilean certification"? Did you google, I found this.
http://www.circulodepilotos.cl/v3/
and this
http://www.pilotoslan.cl/
and
http://www.extracrew.com/crew_pilotos.asp
Probably dozens of other sites. :alien:

question: should I get my private and comercial licence to fly in the States, then return to chile, get my private licence in the states then return to chile and study at the Universidad tecnica in Santiago for my comercial, or should I just enter the program for aviation here in the university and complete that within 3 years?
