4th Month 4th Day

Postby RuneTheChookcha » Sun May 16, 2010 10:17 pm

Birthday of Manjusiri, who represents the Wisdom of Reality (4th Day of 4th Lunar Month, or 5/17/2010).
"Every horse has its stable,
every beast its pen,
every bird its nest.
And God knows best."

A mantra commonly associated with Mañjuśrī is the following:
oṃ a ra pa ca na dhīḥ
This mantra is believed to enhance wisdom and improve one's skills in debating, memory, writing, and other literary abilities.
"Dhīḥ" is the seed syllable of the mantra and is chanted with greater emphasis.
“If we want everything to stay as it is,
everything will have to change."

Even if one has "great skills in debating or memory, writing, or other literary abilities".. such skills are useless.. as it can be easily seen on this board.. :)

But, how to distinguish "words" and Reality?.. Any aspect of Reality, expressed in literary form is unreal, that's how!.. :)

What is real is the Reality. But, is this last statement not expressed in "literary form"?.. :)

In Reality, all water of the Rio Quepe, flowing nearby, isn't enough to wash out my mouth for daring to speak about this matter.. what to say about the Chilean wine in 1500ml bottles?.. :)

Yet, in gratitude, I offer today this "incense" (just 5 pieces of eucalyptus bark, actually :alien: ) to all those seeking Wisdom, throughout space and time..

:)

Mañjuśrī has already bestowed much wisdom upon you, to recognize this.

But, how to distinguish "words" and Reality?.. Any aspect of Reality, expressed in literary form is unreal, that's how!..
Thus, can any reality or truth ever be spoken/heard/read - or, only experienced :?:
Remember, Mañjuśrī was a bodhisattva...
g~j are not... nor are many others in this world.
Can such a being NOT speak Words = Reality
Can his recorded (literary form) thoughts NOT reflect "Reality"
g~j would not presume to judge "the oldest and most significant bodhisattva in Mahāyāna literature" -

What is real is the Reality. But, is this last statement not expressed in "literary form"?..
Indeed it is... see above^
But you missed something.
You must chant the given mantra, Rune...
Forget the literary form
It is the vibrations, not the words, that have importance...
Then, literary ability is meaningless
CHANT, Rune...

In Reality, all water of the Rio Quepe, flowing nearby, isn't enough to wash out my mouth for daring to speak about this matter.. what to say about the Chilean wine in 1500ml bottles?..
Nor is the Rio Lluta enough... we just came from there, at sunset :D
Enough for birds to wash/drink... but not enough for daring to speak :(
Rune... wash your mouth with some Pisco Puro... this will work, for your daring...

Yet, in gratitude, I offer today this "incense" (just 5 pieces of eucalyptus bark, actually :alien: ) to all those seeking Wisdom, throughout space and time..
Yes... offerings, in space--> in time--> in seeking-->(perhaps) wisdom :)

This is a very very good question. I like it -- very much! :)

I think that if the listener/reader has "experienced" that, which is spoken about, then, even when the speaker speaks allegorically -- any reality or truth "experienced" by the speaker can be spoken/heard/read in words, that are "unreal" and "untrue", yet understood perfectly well by this listener (or reader).

Like.. "experienced inexpressible -- expressed". :alien:

Or, please correct this, if this is wrong?.. :?: :?: :?:
