Remember that because of APIS, CBP/ICE knows when you left the country and knows when you are about to return. They have access to your full PNR record including any other passengers on the PNR, who bought the ticket, etc. So even if you both go to separate lines at Immigrations check, they may know something is up and ask questions accordingly.

Not to get down and everything but I suggest to either be sneaky or 100% above board. Being above board means being 100% honest when applying for a visa and 100% honest when entering the US for the first time and be prepared to back things up with papers. In reality, if she gets a visa there is a good chance she'll have no problem getting past customs, even being just married. You only have a problem if they start asking too many questions. Don't let my bad attitude towards CBP and Consulates spoil it for you.

I would strongly advise against this. If they did find out, you would be in a heap of trouble. These guys don't mess around and they seem to know when you're being sneaky.

Umm, you mean you would strongly advise against being 100% honest with them? That's my advice. Too much risk to be sneaky, it's better to be 100% honest and let the chips fall where they may.

We're are going to be completely honest with them, and hope that they will allow my new wife to enter the States to meet my family, if they reject her at the interview I can at least cover a plane ticket for my mother to visit us here for the wedding. She has a house here and 2 children, plus a steady job for 12 years, hopefully they will accept the fact that all we want to do is visit my family and let them meet the new addition.

If you want your parents present at a ceremony, why not have an old fashioned "Promise" or a ring ceremony in the USA. My nieces had one (Episcopal ceremony but other religions also have them), because her grandfather was dying and she wanted him to be a a part of her wedding and he just wasn't going to live long enough for the scheduled event. There was a beautiful dress, a minister, vows (in the hospital chapel) lots of family and a nice cake . After the ceremony she would then be your fiance.
