Please point me in the right direction if there is already a thread on this - I used the search options, to no avail. I need to renew my Cedula de Identidad Extranjero (I have Permanencia Definitiva) in Santiago, and have found little help on the registro civil website and nothing on the website for my communa (Providencia) or the embassy site. Does anyone have the steps that need to be followed and the paperwork needed? I have this crazy idea that if I plan well, I will only have to make ONE trip to each place ONE time, doing it in order and having the correct paperwork.

They also charge a little bit more for extranjeros. So be prepared for an extra couple of lucas.

Glad to help Kathi. I posted that so others would learn from my mistake of wasting time going to the Registro Civil first.

The Cédula cost 4050 pesos (for Chileans it is 3600) and the certificates were 800 each, so a total of 1600 for those.
