First off, I don't need any lectures or preaching on SEO (search engine optimization, posicionamiento-optimization web, etc.) and related subjects.

I am tying to get an idea on how much Chile-based persons are charging entities inside of Chile for web services of this nature.

And is it a one-time charge, ongoing for months, pay as you go, etc?

Yea, no one really pays for this in Chile because most guys with the checkbook don't understand the web. Kind of like talking to a wall.

OK, how about the range for normal type web services? Just for a general estimation.

I see advertising in the paper for thing like a 1,000 pesos a year, but these are mostly guys that bought raw hosting in the states or such for next to nothing and offer nothing.

No, Sorry. I believe in the Sunday papers I have seen them for like 1,000 pesos a month for hosting. So like 12,000 a year.

What is a the going rate for the dudes that "call" themselves web site designers and managers?

I'm interested if anyone knows this as well (and I am trying to find out through other sources). I do some of this type of work (clients in New Zealand and the US) and have been asked a couple of times to do some work here - and I have no idea what to charge.

hey...just for your record i will give you the costs on my site
i payed 180.000 for the build, 15.000 per year for maintain. and 10.000 for any small to medium changes like adding stuff or a new page. for SEO i payed a one time fee of 20.ooo and my site gets about 1100 good visits per month average bounce of 6% and a visit time of over 3 mins...

At last, some real life experience numbers!

Actually they do. I have a friend in IT who did just that for the past 3 years at a consulting firm in Viña. I'll see if I can get the info from him.
