We're looking for a bilingual book keeper in Santiago

Postby Tombi » Tue Apr 20, 2010 5:55 pm

We're looking to employ a book keeper in Stgo, must be fluently bilingual and understand the Chilean systems. Part time to start with, but with scope to become full time in a few months. Anyone? Please PM me for email address to send resumes.

Hi zerOnz, we're looking to employ and ideally a Chilean that speaks good English, rather than a gringo, as it must be someone that understands how things work here, how to lodge tax etc. Plus we don't want to be worrying about visa status etc.

Kirbilly - probably on par with what most book keepers / PA's etc. are getting paid in Santiago. We're not looking for cheap labour, but at the same time, we're a small (but fast growing!) business. Negotiable, in other words... Probably starting off on hourly payment for work done (contracting), then later on (hopefully within 3 months) full time salary.

Tombi, if you don't find the person you are after, Zer0nz is right, PWC here are great. I am sure there are gringos employed there, but the people we have dealt with at PWC who have handled our (somewhat complex) taxes etc are Chileans with excellent english. But you do get what you pay for :D.

I would say PWC too, especially if you have any foreign tax implications to deal with.

Definition of a book keeper?, really is an administrator?

Look after the in-comings, outgoings, and the salaries, taxes, health insurances, pension funds... and make sure everything complies with Chilean law.....

or are you after an accountant?

How about a graduate commercial engineer... that is very reasonable with English? (about 1 years experience also)

I could be able to help you. I am Chilean so I would have no problems with working visa or any of that stuff. I could also be an office manager but I don't have experience with book keeping. Let me know if you are interested.

thanks!

Thanks Alvaradp, but book keeping is first priority at this stage.
