Need confirmation if it was opened and resealed with the tape I described above.

Ellen.

I pre-notify iHerb that it will eventually be coming back. The last time they automatically credited my card minus restocking fee and shipping for a 21% loss.

this is just great. I have specific vitamins I take and am needing to be shipped down there. I was planning on having them shipped in large quantities of around $500 or so so I wouldn't have to order them so often.

So, if I show up with a doctor's note, can I get the vitamins? Though this is a frustration, it's better to play the system's game if possible. How hard would it be to get a doctor's note?

Not as simple as that. They will probably ask for a Visto Bueno de Salud which means paperwork and then finally any fee and IVA tax. I believe $500 retail value also puts it into the category of needing a customs agent. Keep it small, keep it low profile and accept that one may occasionally be held and will not be worth the time and money to fight. Of course, things might have changed for the big DHL orders as they have with the small personal use orders I just described.

Anyone want to experiment?

No, it had not obviously been opened.

Cheers,

Please report your recent Aduanas/SNS holds

Postby eeuunikkeiexpat » Sat Sep 10, 2011 2:32 pm

Anyone with RECENT (past 6 months) Aduanas/SNS holds on your small supplement shipments via postal service?

It apparently stopped after Piñera came into office but now the first time since early 2010, I have a SNS hold!

Just 4 bottles of Omega 3 and a bottle of natural sweetner, no ma'.

Just got an order from iHerb last week and it wasn't held. I have a few iHerb orders that are on their way. I will let you know.

We've had several through recently without problems, but they are now taking a month to arrive.
