Not exactly that "China sold as Chile". It is all said in the fine print.

I have two cans of "Jurel al Natural" currently, namely, "Colorado" and "San Juan".

It is said: "Fabricacion Chilena" on the "Colorado", and "Producto de Chile" on the "San Juan".

It is also stated: "Elaborado por:" on both cans (as usual).

On the Chinese one, however, it is said "Importado por:" and something like: "Producto Chino".

If you don't pay much attention to the small print, the design of this Chinese one is similar to all the other, Chilean, brands.

...The water is clear right through to the bottom;
A fish goes lazily along...

Who is "Jurel"?.. First of all, just a fish, right?..

Filthy stinkin' USA chicken now being sold in Chile

Postby eeuunikkeiexpat » Mon May 10, 2010 11:57 pm

OK an update.

Beer
Vienessa
Bulk wine
Jurel

have all gone up in price due to the direct and indirect effects of the EQ.

Now CHICKEN (POLLO) has recently leapt up in price. Figuring in the bone weight, you can buy decent pork, beef and lamb cuts on special for the same price.

WORD OF WARNING REGARDING CHICKEN:

THE FILTHY, CRAP FED, ANTIBIOTIC INJECTED, INTENSIVELY INDUSTRIAL PRODUCED CHICKEN FROM THE USA IS NOW BEING SOLD UNDER CHILEAN PACKAGING TO KEEP UP WITH DEMAND!!

Salud :x
