Beer Shortage!

Postby cali_chile48 » Wed Mar 10, 2010 6:00 pm

this is not a joke...i have heard form two different people today, one of them the owner of the local botilleria, that there will be a shortage of beer for a couple of months. apparently two of the big breweries in the santiago area were damaged in the earthquake. i understand that this will affect crystal and escudo more than other brands....other brands will generally be available, but more expensive.

The San Jorge problem is solved but last night she said it was almost impossible to get the beer they needed. In recent days, they were buying bottles of beer from the supermarket to fill client demand.

The normal price of Escudo 1 litre deschable at Tottus was 839 a few days ago, yesterday at Tottus 990.

yea, this is confirmed as far as we know also.

Luckily we have made friends with owners of breweries in Southern Chile over the last few days. We might have to do beer drops by air next.

I must confess that I was more distressed to hear about all the wine that was lost.

Don't worry, we have a relief project for that to.

Literally, we are sending aid now to people that work in the wine industry.

If there's a coffee shortage - more important to me - you guys know where to look; Charles is hoarding it all. 8)

Is the unexamined life worth living? Is the un-beered life worth living?
Socrates asked these questions (okay, just the first one) but never gave the answers.
My friends, I think WE know the answers.

I thought Socrates himself was permanently pissed. Maybe too much Monty Python.

I think he was pissed (American usage) because Nietzche led the German team to victory. Then he got really pissed (British usage) after Hegel's goal.
