OMG, I never even seen this while I was on the ground. Read the label on this water delivered by the Chilean Air force. We were not the only foriegners sending water.

They have been making fun of it on the news, but hey it is there and that is what counts.

Hey the telethon was a hit. 30 thousand million pesos (I think 60 million US, someone translate that for me, I am too tired).

When they reached it pinera and bachelete hugged. Check the news for photos of that.

I mean Bolivia, by donating the water - gulp -

We are working on a simple flyer and kit with the doctors (small bottle of bleach, instructions on making and using charcoal, matches) that has simple instructions for using bleach and charcoal to control infections and contamination that anyone can do. Expected cost for about a thousand or more kits should be about $50-100 (possibly less). In fact we think we can get the cost down to around $0.10 US each. We are also going to simply print massive amounts of the fliers and give them to all the pilots to drop in the towns each time they run a shipment. One page, no frills, black and white, until I run my printer dry.

For donations, if you wish to donate still and need to use an online credit card processor please pm me and I will work out the logistics of the best way to do it, or some alternative method. Right now the first line is Western Union, and you can send using your credit card online. I will be checking the western union office in Temuco Monday.

I have refunded all of the money, but pay pal seems to be dragging their feet in processing the refunds. They refunded about a $1,000. I am trying to get every penny back to you as fast as I can, so there is a chance that everyone that wants to can still donate through alternative methods. WE WILL NOT BE STOPPED!!!

Well anyway, we have a covert super secret commando squad of anti-paypal volunteers. We will figure a way out to get the donations to where they are suppose to go. So PM me, tell me what you want to donate, I will send instructions.

The one I recommend is Google Checkout for everyone to use in the future. They are pay pals competitor. Setting up accounts though takes time to get activated.

side thought. I need to figure out something for the kids at the airports. The airport had a whole mess of kids watching all the planes unload. We are talking about mostly kids that have never been on a plane.

We are saddling for the first full day. I might be out of touch for most of the day, but will relay messages through who we can when we can. We are going to be in the communications blackout area of the 8th region.

A thought for the kids at the airports- A polaroid picture of them sitting in the cockpit? A toy plane would be cool but not sure where you could get them

Earthquake Relief Flights
Charles just called - they had a meeting at the airport. they have been given the green light to land anywhere - including roads....
The target today is Isla Mocha. They will fly in and the doctor is spending the night at a hostel. There is a radio with radio operator to maintain communication lines open. The plane will drop the doctor off and then bring in materials and supplies throughout the day from Temuco.
There was a delay getting started as there was fog this morning.
The first flight out will be to check on runways up the coast.
There is another flying club that has been assigned Concepcion North and we have been assigned Concepcion South.
Charles has camera in hand and will bring us pictures later in the day.

I just received an email from Paypal with a real phone number with a real name to contact. I have to wait until tomorrow during business hours to talk to them. I will be making the best case that I can to get not only this problem resolved, but hopefully set precidence for future grass root efforts elsewhere.

I will post the results when I have them.

I just want to know the latest. Is Western Union the best way to get money to you. I'm getting confused by too many posts?
