Paredones

Universidad Alberto Hurtado will be going this Saturday to the locality of Paredones (VI R) to offer aid.

http://www.paredones.comunatransparente.cl/

The Municipality of Paredones is working to take care of the majority of the community's needs and they already have a preliminary list of the individuals that the need the modt urgent aid, what kind of aid and where to focus it.
For the goups and volunteers that will be traveling starting tomorrow, it is recommended to centralize/gather in the municipality, to organize these groups with functionaries and from there on distribute according to the list which is being revised constantly. The road from San Fernando to Paredones has been rehabilitated, even though we continue with communication and electric power problems up to this minute.

There is a need of EVERYTHING, but especially non-perishable food, diapers, milk, clorox (for water), blankets, bed sheeting, cover ups for the night and charcoal. In some cases, pots and pans to cook with as well.
The donations can be gathered in the municipality of Paredones, it is very easy to get there.
To camp in, there are a few open spaces like the Plaza and green areas close to a dry river space.
Please also tkae gas fuel and if not possible to bring gas fuel, then it is possible to pass by Lolos and Santa Cruz and little by little fill up.
Not sure which kind of tools will be needed. However, the help of people will be crucial to provide the much needed aid to the families in Paredones.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN PUNTA ARENAS:

The Red Cross of Punta Arenas has started a campaign to help the those who were injured on the day of the earthquake,

Headquarters of the Red Cross (Cruz Roja)
Avenida Colón #1098 [Punta Arenas]

The Red Cross issues a call to citizens of Punta Arenas to go make new donations at their branches, because the truck that is going to Talcahuano will take all that has been collected as of today [March 4]. So the doors are open to receive non-perishable foods, diapers, [powdered] milk, etc. STRENGTH TO CHILE!

First, psychologists are needed who can donate consulting hours and second, psychologists who are located in their cities or who can relocate.
