Can I make a suggestion....during the wake of the tsunami here in Indonesia we as NGOs were asked to organise a "donate a bucket" scheme....People who wanted to help out were asked to purchase a simple but strong bucket and fill with the following ; soap, shampoos, toothbrushes and toothpaste, laundry soap, strong string ,pegs, bleach, disinfectant, water purifying tablets , basic first aid kit, vitamins, candles and matches. These items came in very useful as often basic things get overlooked in the aftermath of a disaster of this magnitude.....they all proved to be easily accessible and cheap to provide....as often people have these types of items in their kitchen store cupboards....just a thought....hope it helps.
