We are working with hotel and hostel owners in the area to compile a list of foreigners they have at their hostel, or that have left if they know where they have gone.

The U.S. consulate is suppose to have people on the ground in concepcion, near the university, but we have as yet to encounter any american citizen that has been contacted by them directly anywhere in Chile.

Re: Joop Wisse - CONTACTED

Postby yoranw » Tue Mar 02, 2010 3:03 pm

I have received an e-mail from my father in Chillán today. Apparently, communications there have only been partially restored - anyone else with a relative or friend in that are may be able to contact them via e-mail already.

I am still missing relatives.

Original post:

Hello...Looking for a couple of Chilean citizens (aunts and uncles of mine). Names: Martina Canales Orellana and Jorge Canales Orellana both reside in a very small and rural town called Portesuelo. Domingo Canales Orellana resides in Coihueco. Any information about the damage to these towns or about these specific individuals would be greatly appreciated.
