We have power back, hope it lasts. The internet seems to be back too. There was no cell phone service either. The well broke down the day before, needed some bearings or something and we have no water either except bottled. the timing....
I am in Pirque as well and that scared the crap out of me. Very, very strong and very loud, the earth rumbling. The house had no damage at all. The paper said it was still 8.0 here. The bed pitched like I was in the Exorcist movie and everything swayed. outside the pond had a mini tsunami. I am amazed there was no damage-ok there was that half a bottle of wine
and I hate the aftershocks, there have been many. Most small but you can sometimes hear the rumbling and I think omg, not again. My heart stops. Maybe it is worse because I had grown accustomed to the little tremors that are common and sleep right through them (or the loud birds or all the dogs barking). As I sit here, there was another small aftershock.
No damage though, no one hurt at all and not even a broken window. But the old wall fell down in front of Concha y Toro and the old church has much damage. In Puente Alto, some stores are open. Long, long lines. Gas is rationed, 10,000 each and really long lines there too.
