What we know is that Concepcion Chile is unreachable at this point. We have been in contact with people in Mulchin, Los Angeles, and Chillan at times but communication is spotty.

Hey Charles, I asked MickieO about him last night since we all live somewhat near each other, he said he'd tried to call him to no avail around 4am yesterday. I haven't heard any news around here as to San Antonio, yesterday they were saying that a wave took out a bunch of houses and a couple bridges were down. We were without power here in El Quisco until around noon and we're still without water. Tabo is the same. I think the power is still out in Cartagena though.

Can anyone reach EE to check on him?

We are trying to put together, as best we can, a message relay system. Anyone that is living in Chile, effected area or not, that would like to help and could chime in with their exact location and capabilities it would help us better map out how we might reach someone or pass a messages. Think pony express / smoke signal relay.

We have been doing this for last 24 hours for people, and people have been doing it for us.

For instance a client gave us message for their family, we relayed it by sms yesterday to our family in Santiago that had internet, and then they emailed it out of the country. My sporadic posts yesterday also kind of worked that way. Now that we have relatively speaking good international and local communications established, we would like to make the most of it while it last.

My hope is to put together a network to help make contact with some of the missing people. We right now have a couple people in Temuco and the 9th region who's families have called us, and we are trying to reach them by cell and if needed we will see what we can do about sending someone to track them down.

Charles, as I mentioned, I'm in El Quisco and can easily access Algarrobo, Isla Negra, El Tabo. I can even go out to San Antonio if necessary barring any closed roads and what not. Let me know if you need me to call/visit anyone nearby.

I am stateside, but if there's ANYTHING I can do, please let me know--phoning, emailing, whatever. I am happy to be of service. My heart is in Chile.

We just called the police (CARABINEROS DE CHILE) trying to located someone, and the police officer told us if we get a communications network up, he personally could not reach his parents in Concepcion and to call him. That was the police.

we just had another aftershock. My guess this is about 4-5. After 24 hours of aftershocks I don't need instruments anymore to call them. My cat agrees.

That's a lot of aftershocks.

Life is absolutely normal at the moment in La Serena, if you have messages to relay urgently (though I'm currently in between providers for international phone calls so they could be expensive).

Actually according to the USGS we are now over 130 recorded tremors since the main one. Its incredible, check the depth consistencies.
