Any ex-pat groups or clubs in La Serena?

Postby bbaythav » Sun Jan 31, 2010 10:33 pm

I have two kids, 3 and 1 years old. My wife works at the University of La Serena. We just moved here from California. Thus, it would be nice to touch base with some other ex-pats and discuss questions and issues. Thanks!

My brother in law has a small ex pat group in La Serena (around 30). He is currently in AUS , but will be back in La Serena soon. I get some contact details if you like

As a pending anglo/celt migrant to Chile I would like to know if there is an organised, established expatriate social group or club of english speakers in Chile. I have slowly over a couple of years been trying to improve my Spanish but feel a bit daunted by the revelations I have read about Chileans speaking the worst and hardest to understand Spanish,... as if memorising the verb conjugations and genders isn't taxing enough!

Yes there are many mainly in santiago. if you search the forum for Social or expat you may find more information...
The groups vary... Young to old, professional to not... mixed, by language... and so on... really depends where you want to fit in....
