My wife is Thai and we went looking for curry spices when we were in Santiago last month. We found a chinese store across from Mercado Vega that has most of the curry pastes etc. also we found a small shop in one of those little pedestrian malls on Av. Estado in central Santiago that has them.

I have been meaning to try and find it but every time im passing manuel montt is in rush hour and dont want to make the extra 30 minutes of one way roads just to find it.....

I do remember it was a Minimart, it might not have any obvious indian signs... it was "don xxxxxx" minimart or similiar....

Manuel Montt North (on the north side of provi/11 de septiembre, towards Andres Bello/Costanera, west side of the sidewalk, near "Cherry" a repostería store, and the market is called Harry's. And the lime pickle they have there made me so very happy! They sell spices to most of the indian restos, but the guy had never heard of New Horizon when I asked a few months ago. I ate there once, and it is cheap, but I had a cold, and couldn't say if it was good or not (thinking you might get what you pay for).

I do NOT recommend the pakistani place on Pedro de Valdivia on south of Irarrazaval. Underdone, bland, microwaved, ate with another gringo friend of mine, and have asked two others who've been there, and all of us give it a thumbs' down.

I found this place last week when I was there. It's right at manuel Montt station. When you get off the metro (you are on providencia), walk to Manuel Montt and hang a RIGHT, it's less than 1/2 a block from there. At first I went left, and walked all down Manuel Montt (i was going to eat at Jewel of India anyway).

He has some spices, he gets a container in once every few months. You won't find any perishable products (such as paneer etc). But since there is no other option, it's definitely your best bet.
