How to locate my biological father who lives in Chile

Postby gisybelle on Mon Dec 18, 2006 2:07 am

Hi,
I live in California, USA and I'm trying to locate my biological father who was married to my mother (also Chilean but lives here in the USA with me). Where can I begin my search? His last name is Iriarte. Last I knew he was remarried and started a whole new family. He also might be a music professor (teacher.) My mother and he had a daughter (my sister) named Cindy Puselle Iriarte. My mother was pregnant with me when she came to the United States. He never came like he said he would and left my mom alone with a two year old little girl and pregnant with me. He is in his 60's and his full name is Eduardo Iriarte. I think his mother or sisters' name is Carmen. Any help would be appriciated. I am now in my 30's and have known about him since I was about 7 years old. My mothers maiden name was "Estay".
Thank you in advance.
Gisy Belle (Iriarte)

well, this will not be easy, and no one can promise anything but we can try...i'll have to think about this awhile....

first...what city is your mom from and what city is your dad from?
Do you have or does your mom know the identity number of your dad?
What was your dad doing for work?
what level of education does your dad have?

Hi, gisybelle:
Several years ago, I also had to locate my father in Chile. I contacted the Chilean consulate and they were happy to help.
Give them as much information as you can (full name, last known location and employment, age, etc., etc,). It took them a couple of months to get back to me, but I received accurate information (this was several years ago, so maybe things would go faster nowadays). And it didn't cost me a dime.

Good luck! :)
