EL PUELCHE....I enjoyed your comments and also noticed the spingtime territorial-ness of the feathered returnees as they nest and raise young...chattering, angry-sounding 'chercanes' just out of reach of our cat....dive-bombing 'zorzales', etc. Right off the balcony is a favored flyway for the lightening fast, bright green 'pericos' (loros?) that carry huge branches up to the tops of the Araucaria trees where they must be building something the size of an eagle's nest!
GRINGALAIS...So, I see that, you're in La Reina as well. I'm right off Valenzuela Puelma, across from the Parque Intercomunal (Padre Hurtado). We might have to meet up for coffee sometime.
Anyway, I found this article in the archives of the EMOL site...does anyone know this ornothologist, Jurgen Rottman, that's mentioned? I'm sure there's a gold mine of expert birders here and I hope to start a list/resource guide to keep track of their activities (related to public offerings, trips, outings, etc.). I appreciate all the tips and info that's coming out of this forum....Thanks All!
