This is Cecil...
he lived in my house...
but he wasn't really my "pet"
(even though I fed him)
look... he is table-trained
he can eat from my spoon
I'm not sure I want another "pet" like this
Cecil could be very fast and very nasty
definitely NOT for children!
Are these in Chile?
maybe I won't go to that place?

What is a "pet'
Do not constrain yourselves to the usual
dogs...cats... birds... fish...
Animal friends exist in all forms
Respect them all,
Enjoy them all,
(sometimes, though... be careful
they might bite, or scratch)
If they live in your house...
feed them and coexist
Why will no one answer my questions...
where can I find the pets I seek in Chile?

BTW... a disclosure...
in a former life I was a zoologist
and biology teacher...
this may explain my unusual pets
but still, allchileans...
can we ALL respect life
in all its forms?

all arachnids...
THIS is focused

I will be thankful
I will feed it and call it "friend"

BTW... Sid, the arachnid above
also lived in my house
She was my friend

she was gentle...
never bit...
hid in corners, hunted on walls

from posting puppies, kitties, ducklings?

I can also post...
cows, goats
chickens, vultures...

sharks, turtles, lobos
pelicans, boobies (yes!)
lizards, frogs...

sometimes pets...
sometimes not?
but ALL are my friends

This was also my friend, Rhino.

He wasn't really my pet
just a casual visitor around home
very friendly, though

I couldn't feed him...?
I hope he wasn't too hungry
but lots of fun to play with!

where can I find such friends in Chile

I don't know the right name for the lizards that can easily climb the walls and run on the ceiling in your house (in some tropical countries), nor do I now how to name rightly the "giant cockroaches", that can fly, and like waste waters very much, but I had once such lizard as a friend, and it could easily (well, after some fight) catch and eat these giant cockroaches (the size of them was bigger then the size of the lizard). Never saw these in Chile.

This is Lizzie...
Another home... another lizard
Reptiles can be great friends
She is pregnant in this image
Can you see her maternal glow?
She was so friendly, easily approached
but she wouldn't let you pick her up
I used to slap nasty, biting horseflies
she would pounce upon them...
A symbiotic relationship
I gave her flies, she gave me joy

I have seen some nice lizards in Chile
but they are so shy, so afraid
they don't know me... they run, hide
I hope to meet a friendly one, some day
I will also feed it flies

many just think only "higher" forms must be respected
but it's a start...
I started with cats as pets...
watching my cats taught me many lessons
RESPECT, was just one

If I had a picture of my cat (R.I.P)
I would share this
I hope other allchileans will continue to share
higher, or lower lifeforms - as pets and friends

that's a cool lizard...
but you should buy a camera

BTW-2...
those wall climbers are geckos...
LOTS of fun when they live in your house
if you want one, and can't find one...
(btw - they do live in the North)
you can buy them, in Chile...

If you like BIG bugs, I suggest you should try Baja California Sur.
Can't supply any fotos because not only are they BIG, they're fast too 8_0

I didn't feed this one, on the picture.. It just lived there, near the house.. and liked that big stone very much..

Though, some time ago, in Fiji, not in Chile, I had a very nice one, and I gave (her? him? I cannot tell, like you?.. :alien:

) mosquitos.. Every day.. They are tasty, right?..
