In Vegas it is all but the law that casino will give free drinks to players.

Yea, ventured out to the Casino in Temuco again to try the hotel Restaurant. Good service, terrible food, nice wine selection. After we went down to the casino for a wisky and play like 10,000 pesos. We managed win like 130,000 pesos playing some roulete. When I subtract dinner and drinks, I figure we came out ahead like 10,000 pesos.

Couple observations. I am not that lucky, but I do know when to walk away. I have so far been to the casino 3 times, and including cover charge I have managed to walk out of the casino door without loosing any money, when including dinner and drinks. It is more than just breaking even. Even a new loose casino does not have those sorts of odds in Vegas.

I noticed they did have more customers, but the staff had been cut. Perhaps the staff is getting better, but don't know.

Do not play games at the casino you do not know the rules to. The guys running the table are way too green. There was one incident on the table where I put a chip down on a number along with two other players. We won, and the guy at the table payed out the other two players but not me, then turned to start the bets for the next round. Had the other players not spoken up for me, I would have been more or less at the mercy of my word against the casino. Yea, not a lot faith in their video cameras either. The guy did pay out, just it was close call that should have never happened.

Watch out for errors. I think so far however I have made just about as much money on errors of the guys running the tables, as from just winning. Just watch out for the errors in the house's favor.

Research and Markets: Chile Gaming & Gambling 2011

Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/resea ... gaming_gam) has announced the addition of the "Chile Gaming & Gambling 2011" report to their offering.

This report covers detailed information relevant to the gaming and gambling opportunities offered by the largest or most important gaming and gambling countries found in Latin America.

It is believed that if both the legal and illegal gaming activities were combined in Latin America it is likely that the region would generate over US$150 billion a year. The twelve principle gambling countries in this region generate combined revenues of over US$33 billion.

Latin Americans spend circa US$10 billion a year on gaming and gambling and it is also estimated that on average each inhabitant in this region spends US$250 a year on gaming and gambling. Experts estimate than in 10 years the whole region's external debt could be paid off with the money generated from the gaming and gambling industry.

Costa Rica, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Panama and Venezuela are considered to be the most prolific gambling countries in the region where slot machines, casinos, horse-racing, lotteries, bingo, internet gaming and illegal gaming entertain millions of people each day.

We estimate Chile's gambling market to be at least US$ 600 million. Instead of US$95 million as estimated in other reports. Chile's lotteries alone generate US$300 million a year and casinos last reported revenues reached US$219 million.

I played the Pokerstars satellite for the Vina LAPT. I got dumped at 20, 8 places got an entry package which ticked me off because I was in Vina that week on holiday. The BC government in Canada has just started an online poker site but you have to have a local IP address to get in. I have my doubts about the Pokerstars website not being fixed. I have played in Vegas in smaller tourneys and have faired reasonably well. At Pokerstars it appears the larger the stack the more times you hit the cards you need. This is not bad if your the large stack but their profit increases the faster the games are concluded. Perhaps sour grapes but I will be very interested to see how a Government run site compares (Because we all know that the Government wouldn't cheat!!!!).
