The easiest way to sort out the vital statistics of any country compared to another is to go to http://www.nationmaster.com They have every conceivable statistic for every country in the world. According to them the US ranks 24th in per capita murder rate and Chile is 45th. the united kingdom is 46th. Rapes per capita US 9th place Chile 26th UK is 13th. The stats. of some countries such as Thailand can't be trusted because of incompetent police work and fudged statistics so watch out for that factor but I doubt that that problem would occur in either the US or the Chile stats.

i dont know thailand, but sometimes poor countries are safer. cuba is safer than puerto rico, been puerto rico richer. nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in latin america and safer than many other countries. delinquence is not cause the poverty, this is just crap. violence and delinquence is for the society nets, friendship, family, etc.

the media and another things that i dont want to say but is related with slaves, have a lot of inffluence in violence and death rates.

You may well be right. At a broader and more violent level, it's long been taken by historians as a given that most revolutions result from frustration of rising expectations, not from hopelessness.
