Hello,
I want to thank the forum members for their contribution. I have found very useful information on this forum regarding property taxes (bienes raices), but need some help in regards to commerical property taxes. I am working on a project in assessing what property taxes would be for a Hotel in Santiago. The property can be considered a mid-luxury hotel. Given it is a new build, how would the local assessor determine the value of the property (avaluo fiscal)? Is it based on construction cost plus the purchase of the land? What would be the tax rate in santiago? Would I take the assessed value and multiply the tax rate to get my property taxes? Is it that simple?
Are hotels exempt from property taxes given the high taxes they generate from sales tax, etc...
Do taxes stay constant year after yar or do increase a certain % for commercial properties?
Any assistance you can lend will be appreciated.
Thank you,
