Use an ATM at the store or the gas station then. If you're talking about teller lines, avoid the 15th and the last day of the month like the plague.

We (Chileans and us visitors) don't. In my case if I do have to actually go to the bank I go during work hours, which is commonplace for any tramite here. So employers apparently have the time to waste. Also, remember that you can make deposits at ServiPag depending on your bank... Online banking also exists.
Although I must say that setting up the account & online banking was a huge pain, my bank isn't that terrible now that I have them. My ejecutiva takes care of requests for me over e-mail and I can do just about anything else online. Yeah the service sucks but that's Chile.
