Searching for a plumber and a glass company

Postby Rorysmom » Tue Apr 07, 2009 8:37 pm

Can anyone recommend or direct me to a place where I can find listings (telephone numbers/websites) for plumbers in the Santiago area? Also looking for a glass company due to shattering the glass in-lay of the dining room table in the apartment we are renting, oops.

There are online "yellow pages" for Chile, with most listings in greater Santiago. I regret that I haven't the URL -- 'lost all my meticulously gathered "bookmarks" a while ago -- but a quick search (in Spanish, of course -- "páginas amarillas", o algo así) should give you it in moments.

Rune, sew together a splash guard for toilet plungers and you can retire. Send this prototype to Gloria for production outsourcing. Green technology for
eco waste...

Actually it wasn't the bowl but this is very interesting, Rune. :)

As things typically go in Latin America (and Santiago Chile is no exception)... Turns out what we need is probably a 28 peso part to fix the seal on the faucet in the sink. I'd do it myself but I was instructed to let the landlord handle it. So we did. The architect came out to check to see if it was a building concern (which it would be if we let the water dribble onto the next floor); then we had the constructor come out to make sure it wasn't his problem either; all the while I've been saying it's simply an inexpensive seal that needs to be replaced... which both the architect and constructor concurred and called the landlord to tell her it was her problem, which I already knew... Which took us about two weeks. Meanwhile the landlord went and got married (I believe it was expected) and is presently on her luna de miel for the next three weeks.

Thank goodness we have the utility sink next to the kitchen so we can do dishes.

So I went to the yellow pages today... which were not available probably becuase their server was down... will try again later when the hamsters get off their break and start running on the wheel again.
