Taxes on real estate transactions

Postby GJJIM » Wed Apr 01, 2009 7:15 pm

This question may have been answered elsewhere, but I couldn't find anything specific searching in the forum so I'll ask anew. What are the tax implications for the sale of residential real estate in Chile? Are there any exemptions on capital gains when selling a property? Are taxes collected from either party when a property is purchased? Thanks in advance.

sell it after owning a property for at least 1 year, and there is no taxes of any sort. Makes real estate a great investment in Chile.
