Patagonix..Shuko plugs are better. but the pin diameter is bigger than the standard Chile socket holes, so people either cut the plug off or use an adapter, which defeats the object of using them in the first place. I actually use a few of the somewhat clunky UK BS1363 13Amp plugs and sockets, which IMHO are the safest domestic outlets in the world, (polarized, internal fuse, flame-retardant materials, solid brass contacts, shrouded pins, shuttered outlet etc etc.)
Here, as you mention, the Bticino dual 10/16Amp socket modules are the best of a bad bunch.
When I mentioned ratings I was referring to domestic plugs. I have seen (and replaced) literally dozens of burnt "10 Amp" plugs on electric jug kettles, irons, and oil radiator heaters.
Regarding my advice on getting in an electrician, if you don't know anything about electricity, even a crappy sparky is better than none. As for SEC certified, it just means you pay more, that's all.
As someone who has been waiting over three months for a SEC inspector to come and check my new 3-phase installation I know enough about them already thanks.
