Here in Thailand we have what is called a honda phantom it is a cruiser style bike but only has 250 cc which is a little under powered for it but it is fine for around town as long as you do not need to go much faster than 80 km per hour for extended periods. Has anyone seen any of these in Chile they sell for $US 2,300 new here in Thailand. If I do decide to move my machine shop down to Chile I will have to build a chopper and see if I can get it licensed. Sounds like it would be a fun exercise in futility!

Along the Dakar race route you may find enough parts to put together a KTM I hear more than a few fell apart :D

It may be cheaper to ship it over, ride it to somewhere to sell it or ship it home than buy it in Chile, but it may cost the same as buying it in Chile, it would be a luxury item and the cost would be 30-40% higher than outside the country, 9000 GBP is $15000 USD which with duty would be the $21000 or so. Did that price include IVA (VAT)? If so it’s not bad if not that’s another 19%.

Problem with shipping a bike from UK is that it will be a right hand drive and in chile all the bikes are left hand drive  (waits for comments)

Apart from that "problem", you might import a bike with an actual motor :D .
I enjoy looking at these Chinese 125 and 250 Harley wanna bees.
There's got to be at least 200 lbs of chrome and dummy mufflers hanging on the poor thing.

Normally you cannot legally import and register a used motorcycle or other motor vehicle unless you are a Chilean resident returning after some considerable time away. For temporary use, yes, but not if you plan to register it in Regions II through XI.
