But if a large schop is what you are looking for in life... then you have it made! Depends on your aspirations in life!JaX_Chile wrote:mardy wrote:yea just a shame mil here equates to a large schop.

Each time, we have used Freerentacar, a company that delivers the car to the Santiago airport and picks it up there at no additional cost.
I would encourage everyone to check out their website, because we generally can lease a vehicle from FreeRentACar for about one half of what everyone else is charging.
We have never had a problem, all the taxes are included in the price and despite the fact that neither of us speak Spanish, we have managed to transact business with their (very patient) representative every time.
We will be in Algarrobo for the month of April, and the cost of leasing a Corsa for 30 days is $650 USD. All of the other places we checked - at least 10 - wanted more than $1100 for the same car for the same time period.
Previously, we have charged the cost of the car to our US issued Mastercard and never had a problem. The only negative I have with that practice is that Mastercard generally charged $40 - $50 currency conversion fee for each rental. This time, we will pay cash to the representative at the airport and receive an additional 5% discount. We've used them several times, we trust them, and take comfort in the fact that all paperwork, all taxes and all the red tape is handled for us.

Check them out. I have been very impressed with their service, their personnel and the prices can't be beat. (the first time we rented, the lever to raise front seat to enter the back of the two-door was broken, but we just entered from the driver's side. Despite the fact that Americans have a reputation of being spoiled, we just go with the flow, and appreciate the low cost. A little inconvenience never hurt anyone, and that was the only "glitch" (inperfection) in all of the transactions we've had with Mr. Hallouhi.
