My experiences are so limited as we usually travel outside of the Chilean metro areas, and people have bent over backwards to help us, be it in a restaurant, a shop or getting a car out of a ditch. Maybe that is different than customer service.
The check thing is an incomprehensible stupid policy and should be discussed with management.
There is no question about how polite ( not when they drive) and nice individuals are.A business such as Sodimac, even though the employees are polite, the company's policy are backwards.Instead of at least trying to accomodate a good customer, their policy shuts the door on their face.Their lack of business skills to do whatever is necessary to keep such a customer into the establishment to buy more in times of recession, is baffling. Management is almost none existent just for few individuals under the age of 30 that they could care less if the company makes money or not. I've never seeing someone in their 50's as an authority in the store. And the "young" managers are indifferent, arrogant and ignorant. You can complaint til you turn blue, they will just walk away.
There was no reason whatsoever for refusing my check. They are all "al dia" (it can be cashed inmediately) and RUT in hand to verify it is me who signs it.Probably I forgot to bring my first born and DNA test.
It's dissapointing to see that in 40 plus years so little has changed when it comes to transactions and lack of customer service from the Banks to chain stores!Anything that has to do with commerce or "money exchange" it's still in the 19th century. It's actually embarrassing!!
