Telefonica Movistar / Negative Comment

Postby RuneTheChookcha » Wed Nov 12, 2008 2:50 pm

I've been using Telefonica Movistar prepaid SIM card for Internet access via GPRS/EDGE for my laptop since my arrival in Chile (June, 2008). They offer 24 hours of Internet access (unlimited) for 2000 pesos.

With regards to the above mentioned service, I am sorry to say, that I've had extremely negative experience. I would wish Telefonica Movistar to start loosing clients.

Sorry Movistar, but you have personally offended little Chookcha...

We had the Telefonica service for a very short period of time in out apartment. I think it was about a month, Internet was slow, digital cable menu was a hard to navigate. One of my pet peeves when it comes to satellite service is having every common channel you watch being in the 300's, I can never keep which one is which straight in my head.

Then VTR started handing out booklets saying they finally had service in the building. VTR... CNN is (or was) channel 7, Sony 48, AXN 52 or something like that like... even after more than a year of not watching TV in Chile I can still generally remember the VTR channels.

We jumped ship so fast... I would not recommend Telefonica to anyone.
