Hello Everybody,
I'm very new here and am just starting to peruse this forum. I wont ask any questions yet as I can probably find many answers by searching here.
My wife and I are American's who split our time between Utah and Canada. We are avid skiers and own a house in a small town in British Columbia called Ymir which sits in the middle of the Kootenay Mountains. We love it up there, but Canada makes it extremely difficult to immigrate (yes we are trying to leave the U.S.) and so we are exploring Chile as a possibility.
We have yet to travel down there and plan to do so very soon (april?), but I need to do my homework so we can maximize our time. I'm sure that when the time comes the people on this forum will be a invaluable resource.
Charles, thanks for putting together such comprehensive site. The thread on the eruption of Volcan Chaiten was riveting to read, knowing that real people's lives and livelihood's are at stake. Human drama demonstrating the best of humanity makes me yearn to live in a community like Futa. I wish them all only the best!
Cheers,
Kevin
