I was browsing through some of the posts on health and dental insurance, but did not specifically see any names of companies that provide this.

Can someone recommend a good company in Chile who provides decent health insurance that includes dental coverage as well?

Will it be enough to have a RUT to obtain this or will I need a RUN?

So I guess no RUN is required, only a RUT.

If you are foreigner, there are a few companies that will insure you but you need to pay for a 12 month contract in advance rather than monthly payments.

While not in Chile, there are some insurance brokers in the US that can provide health insurance for you in Chile. The Long Term Travel Insurance, also known as Expatriate Insurance or ExPat, is travel insurance for people traveling outside the United States for one year or longer. The one plan that I looked into, the underwriter was Lloyds of London. It was called Citizen Secure or International Citizen. Something like that. I don't know how they handle claims and such. I have not chosen a plan yet. For reference the broker that I contacted was called International Corporate Benefits. My insurance broker in the states gave me the contact info for them. An expat policy is recommended if you will be traveling to other countries (visa runs?) or visiting the States (this rider adds more expense).
