Interesting article, although I am a bit surprised that the Economist blames Pinochet for the problems, considering how pro-Pinochet that same magazine was during the dictatorship.

A very superficial view in my opinion, typical from journalists with an opinion built upon readings and maybe a couple of trips in a hurry to the country more than first hand experience. Is a risky business to write about a trend from several decades in a short article
